Well, as I write this, it appears Seabrat is currently on the Blackwing Lair realm, but I sure didn’t put him there! Since the account has been disabled since Monday, I have to assume that the hacker did that during his last little adventure at my expense. I had a Seabrat character on a few other realms, but since they don’t show up in the armory any more I assume the hacker deleted them. Meh… no biggie. There is only one true Seabrat, and he has been kidnapped!

My PC has been reformatted and reinstalled. AV, spyware and firewall have all been updated and installed. Scans have been done with numerous virus and spyware scanners. WoW is installed and ready to go. I would buy an Authenticator in a heartbeat, if only they were available! My e-mail address and password have been changed. My WoW account has been updated with the new e-mail address. Everything looks good and ready to launch!

Yet… I am still not convinced that my WoW account is secure. If the hacker knows the answer to my secret question (or the last digits of my CD-key), then I believe he/she can still reset my e-mail address and successfully swipe my account. I am waiting to hear from Blizzard on that one. Until then, I am out of the game.

Oh, and Mr/Ms Hacker, if you are reading this I would like to offer you a free, all expenses paid offshore fishing trip. I’ll bring the bait, drinks, food, tackle… everything, even the chain and cement blocks. I promise you the experience of a lifetime!
